The Vancouver Olympics has begun with a fatality on its hands. Mr. Nodar Kumaritashvili , the 21 year old athlete who lost his life yesterday in a practice run of the luge event, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Whistler hospital that he was flown to. Such a sad, sad, waste of life. Who knows where this story will end, as there is speculation about the design of the track, and talk of several "crashed" runs prior to this fatal run. The Georgian team bravely walked out to a standing ovation at the opening ceremonies last night, but it may take more than consolations to end the pain.
Here is a video...NOT THE CRASH VIDEO...of another olympian luger discussing the Whistler track just shy of a month ago. Things that make you go Hmmmmmm....What do you think?
